Why not learn to make your own, custom piece of jewelry while on vacation in Tamarindo?
Both classes 1 & 2 below include sheet metal, wire, beads, stones, chain, stamps and leather + just about anything else you’d like to include in your piece. You will learn how to use basic hand tools (punches, hammers, cutters, etc.), anvil and mandrel.
1 – Design and make your own necklace, ring or bracelet. You can either learn to make a piece that’s for sale in the shop, or design your own. Most students complete their piece in under 2 hours. Cost: $60
2 – Same as class above but includes chemical etching. This is a process where a design is drawn onto the metal and placed in a chemical bath. The design is then permanently etched into the metal. Some examples of chemically etched designs can be viewed here. This class is a two part class, each class lasting approximately 2 hours (depending on the student’s design). The first and second class need to be done on separate days (don’t have to be consecutive). Cost is $110
- Classes for younger kids available (ages 5-10) doing basic beading, keychains, etc. $35/1 hour (includes all materials). Kids 11+ can usually make their own piece as described in Class Option #1 above.
Classes are scheduled by appointment only and a deposit of $10 per person is required to reserve your space (payable via PayPal if you are out of the country or can be paid in person upon arrival to Tamarindo). Please contact me to set up a time.
