I often get asked the meaning of the patterns that I draw/etch onto my jewelry. The true beginning of my fascination with these tribal patterns was about a year ago when I read an article about the Kassena tribe in Ghana, Africa. The photos of the mud houses and the amazingly beautiful geometric patterns that adorned them really caught my attention. I Googled them and the more I read and the more photos of these earth houses I saw, the more influenced I felt by these drawings.
I fell in love with the chunky patterns and started integrating my own version of these designs into my jewelry.
My versions are by no means exact replicas, but when I sit down to work and start drawing I feel that there are an endless number of designs to be made.
